Executive Biographies

Kevin Brady

General Manager and VP. Kevin is an original founder of TaxStream, now a part of Thomson Tax & Accounting, providing the domain expertise and strategic direction for the company.  In addition to his executive roles, Kevin serves as a senior advisor on engagements and proposals.  Prior to TaxStream, he helped found Annaly, currently traded on the New York Stock Exchange with a market capitalization of $ 5 billion (NLY).  Kevin worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1986 to 1994, providing tax consulting services to a number of multinational corporations. From 1980 to 1985, he worked at Merck in the corporate tax department in a variety of planning and compliance positions. Kevin holds a BA from McGill University, an MBA from New York University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Shane Naughton

VP, Technology/Europe Operations. Shane is an original founder of TaxStream, now a part of Thomson Tax & Accounting, providing the technical vision from the beginning. He is responsible for the architecture and development of new products and leads the research and development group.  Shane also acts as project manager on a number of client engagements, and is leading the company’s European initiative. Prior to joining TaxStream, Shane worked for Sanford Bernstein and Harvard Pilgrim on a number of large scale database projects, mainly in the financial reporting area. Prior to that, he worked as a developer for ABB, an Irish software company servicing the inventory management market. Shane holds a BA and MS from Trinity College in Dublin.

Stephen McGerty

VP, Technology. Stephen is an original founder of TaxStream, now a part of Thomson Tax & Accounting, assisting with technology, development and client implementations. He is responsible for ongoing enhancements to the TaxStream C/S and iTaxStream.  Stephen also leads a group of consultants performing technical implementations of iTaxStream, automation and closed loop systems. Prior to joining TaxStream, Stephen worked as a consultant to both Bankers Trust and MetLife on a number of large scale web projects, mainly in the financial reporting area. Prior to that, he worked as a developer for ABB, an Irish software company servicing the inventory management market. Stephen holds a BA and MS from Trinity College in Dublin.

Brian Tully

VP, Operations. Brian Tully is responsible for sales, support, and non-technical consulting.  He is engaged in the daily operation of the company, ensuring that all client needs are met. In addition to his operational duties, Brian assumes much of the new business development, calling on new accounts and meeting with distribution partners. Brian has been involved in numerous Fortune 500 implementations of TaxStream, helping to fully automate their annual tax processes. Prior to joining TaxStream in 2002, Brian worked as an investment banker for Lehman Brothers. He has extensive experience in both trading and venture capital investment. Brian holds a B.A. from Sienna College in New York.
